We can mix stains to find your perfect color!
Pick 3 of your favorite colors! Before starting each job, we sand down an area of your floor to show you the colors on your particular wood species!
If needed, we have additional stain colors that also can be used upon request!
These are swatches of all the Duraseal Stains on real Red Oak Flooring. We have up close photos of all the swatches above - please reach out if you would like to see a specific stain!
Early American Stain on Red Oak with Oil-Based Satin Finish
No Stain, only Semi-Gloss Water-Based Finish on White Oak
Honey Stain on Red Oak with Oil-Based Semi Gloss
Classic Grey Stain on Red Oak with Oil-Based Satin Finish (Oil finish will darken the stain color - Water-based finish will keep the color light)
Rustic Beige Stain on Red Oak with Oil Satin Finish (Great for neutralizing the tones of the floor without going completely grey)
No Shine - When sunlight hits the floor it will look more like a "light spot" versus having reflect
Low shine - When sunlight hits the floor there will be some reflect, but still matte in areas without direct light.
Medium all-over shine - Great option for those who like their floors to shine but don't want floors to look "wet"
Highest Shine - Think of a basketball court or bowling lane - Very beautiful, but it will show scratches/imperfections over time a lot easier
(This project was an Abrade & Recoat with Gloss Finish - not a full sand)
Pros:
1. Has a "thicker appearance" - more rich vibrant coat
2. Oil Finish has an Amberizer which brings out wood tones
3. If the stain is too light, Oil Finish can be used to darken or make the stain appear more "rich"
Cons:
1. Takes 12-24 hours to dry each coat
2. Has more of an odor when first applied
3. More susceptible to UV rays, which can make floor darken/yellow after a long period of time
Pros:
1. Water Finish is completely clear/transparent - will not darken or yellow over time
2. Takes 2-4 hours to dry each coat
3. Little to no odor when applied
4. Less susceptible to UV rays
Cons:
1. Has a "thinner" appearance (same durability as Oil just a different look)
2. Can not darken the tone of the floor and does not bring out wood tones
